New King James Version | NKJV

Proverbs 30:7-9

Two things I request of You (Deprive me not before I die):
Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
Give me neither poverty nor riches — Feed me with the food allotted to me;
Lest I be full and deny You, And say, “Who is the LORD?”
Or lest I be poor and steal, And profane the name of my God.

Reflective Thinking

There is tremendous value in knowing and understanding the areas we are most vulnerable to making immoral decisions. Please don’t undervalue the importance of getting to know yourself and what makes you tick. You are incredibly unique and no one else in the world is exactly like you. You have strengths and weaknesses that need to be identified and you then need to put yourself in a situation for victory. What fools do is they choose to play with fire in areas that they are weak and vulnerable. What fools do is rely on themselves and depend on their own understanding and not God’s understanding. Too much distance from God for any significant length of time and you’re setting yourself up for painful failure… interestingly, I find pain to be one of the main things that can drive many of us back to God.

Action Idea

Do some reflective thinking of your own about life to determine what life situations make you most at risk of distancing yourself from God. Ask God for His wisdom about your situation and do what He tells you to do.
