Reflective Thinking
Often when mistakes happen people look to make an excuse why things went wrong and far too many times people blame the Lord for the problems in their life when they are the ones that put themselves in that situation. When you place blame on other people you are giving up the opportunity to take personal responsibility for the situation. The easy way is to place blame… the wise way is to take personal responsibility. Taking personal responsibility doesn’t necessarily mean you are saying it’s your fault but you are saying you’re taking on the responsibility of the situation as if it were your fault. You’ll see the best coaches in sports do this all the time. Everybody knows a player choked and ruined the game for the whole team and it had nothing to do with the coach but in the press conference they take on full responsibility for the loss. This is what great leaders do. This is what I expect you to do.
Action Idea
Stop placing blame on others and especially the Lord for the mishaps in your life. Take personal responsibility and ask the Lord to help you get out of it. God will help you through it all if you ask Him.
